Personal Background

Hello everyone! I have great honour to welcome you to my blog, which I have just created in response to my friends' requests. While the blog was created, I was living so far away from my beloveds and Cambodia: my pitiful, lovely and proud country. I am now doing Master of Financial Management at the University of Melbourne, Australia. Some of my friends said I am very lucky because I am studying while the world is falling into the very great depression, which started from the giant leading economy: the United States of America. As a citizen of the emerging market, I am committing myself to transform the world economic thread to my personal strength.

In conjunction with the world financial meltdown, 'change' has become the most popular word that most leaders are saying to and even promising their people, and Cambodia's must not be excepted. I am not attempted to talk about change in this part because I have reserved a very beautiful space for this topic already. Thus, first of all, please let me brief you about my personal background as follow.

When I was in grade 12, I joined in the Mathematics Contest organized by the Preah Yukunthor High School, and held the third place. Then I had subsequently been granted three scholarships by the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) to do Bachelor of Finance and Banking at the National University of Management, Bachelor of Economics at the Royal University of Law and Economic Science, and Bachelor of Computer Science at the Royal University of Phnom Penh. With pride and confidence, I did the three disciplines simultaneously, and finished two bachelor degrees with best performance in classes and schools of those disciplines. However, I dropped the IT course in third year due to time constraint soon after I got another scholarship to do Postgraduate in Public Sector Financial Management at the Royal School of Administration (ERA). Finishing the course with the first place in my promotion, now I am an assistant to the Cabinet of H.E. Mr. SOK AN, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers, and the Chairman of Board of Directors of the Royal School of Administration.

On the other hand, I used to be a visiting lecturer of Accounting, Economics and Finance at various higher educational institutions in Cambodia. Also, I am a volunteer associate research fellow of the Cambodian Institute for Cooperation and Peace (CICP), where I mainly focus on Monetary Economics, financial sector management and development policies, and international finance. Together with my academic strength and rich experiences, I have unconditionally been admitted to do Master of Financial Management at the University of Melbourne as an international student.

I am looking forward to welcoming you to my knowledge-sharing blog for Cambodia's change toward sustainable and harmonized development.
